General
Crypto Composite Ltd. (“Crypto Composite“), has created this website (the “Website” or the “Site“) under the name “BYTETREE.COM” and “BYTETREEAM.COM” to provide an online resource for users to obtain information and data related to crypto assets (i.e. cryptocurrencies).
We take data privacy seriously. This privacy policy explains who we are, how we collect, share and use Personal Information, and how you can exercise your privacy rights.
We recommend that you read this privacy policy in full to ensure you are fully informed. However, to make it easier for you to review the parts of this privacy policy that apply to you, we have divided up the document into sections that are specifically applicable to Visitors (Section 2), Mailing list (Section 3), and Members (Section 4). All other sections are applicable to everyone.
If you have any questions or concerns about our use of your Personal Information, then please contact us at info@bytetree.com
To the extent we provide you with notice of different or additional privacy policies, those policies will govern such interactions.
1. Cookies and LocalStorage
The site makes use of your browser storage abilities to remember your view settings and any one-time options. No personally identifiable information is stored. We mainly have to set a cookie to allow us to remember that you have consented to enable cookies, ironically.
2. 3rd Party Cookies
Visitor tracking
We use GoSquared to track visitors to our websites. Tracking enables us to find out the traffic levels, issues and the different type of technology used to access the site to allow us to improve and optimise the user experience.
On ByteTree.com we record your IP address so that we can spot and track abuse of our systems. On our blog and parent Cryptocomposite site, IP addresses are anonymised and never stored.
3. Mailing List
To keep our users up-to-date, ByteTree sends out newsletters regularly using MailChimp as a third party data processor. You can read the MailChimp Privacy Policy here: https://mailchimp.com/legal/privacy/
What Information we Collect
We collect contact information for your first name, your last name, and email address.
How we Collect Information
We use a sign-up form, that has been built using the tools provided by MailChimp. The information collected is provided by you manually typing in your details in each field of the sign-up form. The sign-up form is advertised in the footer section of ByteTree.com, on CryptoComposite.com, in the footer section of each published blog article, as well as on the ByteTree Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn pages.
What we Use the Data for
The data collected is used to send out monthly newsletters to the email address you have provided. The emails outline the content that has been published by ByteTree.com during the previous four weeks. At times we may send out additional correspondence in response to events that happen outside the window of the last newsletter. The monthly newsletter will be sent out on the second Wednesday of each month. ByteTree reserves the right to change the schedule at any time.
Implemented Security for Storing the Data Safely
The data provided by you is stored in MailChimp, using their audience list function. Only selected members of the ByteTree team have access to the user account for MailChimp, which requires a two-factor verification code to access in addition to the login details. No other third party has or will ever have access to this data.
Opt-out/Unsubscribe Options
After providing your details through the Mailchimp sign-up form, you may at any time opt-out/unsubscribe from the ByteTree mailing list. The option to unsubscribe is in any correspondence sent by ByteTree, including in the subscription confirmation email you would have received after signing up. To unsubscribe, please follow the link listed in the footer, in any emails sent by ByteTree. Upon choosing and confirming the unsubscription process, Mailchimp’s automation system will immediately delete any data you provided to ByteTree.com. We will have no further access to your data, and you will not receive any additional correspondence from us.
